I've had a few times where trashing the .avs folder in the project and letting avid rebuild it solved some wonky problems. I stumbled on it when I made a new project and opened the problem bin and it worked. Then I trashed .avs in the original project and my problem went away. I wasn't dealing with an autosave issue but I've had the resolve a few very quirky problems so it might be worth a try. No harm in moving the .avs out of the project and letting Avid rebuild it just to see. At least it never caused me any problem.
