The trick with monitor placement in post is to get it right before you
ever start working. Otherwise its temporary permanent. I did a film a
couple of years ago where the only way to get my monitor to the right
height was to stick it on a spare quadroplex rack box. Given that it had
a couple of unused quadros inside it was by far the most expensive
monitor stand ever. I figured it would be that way for a day or two.
Nope, delivered the film still sitting on the box.
Temporary permanent happens too easy in post - spend the time before
your first job!
