Weird. I'm now at a client's system, also Mac, but MC 7.0.2 instead of .0.3 as I have at home. On this one, holding down Opt when going to Effects mode automatically resizes to a single screen. At home when I hold down the Opt key it only allows me to then resize to a single screen by dragging; it doesn't do it on its own.
Also, here I can then save my reconfigured Effects Editing workspace and it retains the information. At home it keeps reverting to a two-screen arrangement while keeping the rest of my adjustments. Both systems are running 10.8.4.
I will check this again for user error when I get home, but I'm interested if those who can successfully do this are running 7.0.3 on a Mac.
