I hit the same issue: Ordered a support contract for a client, checked if the system id is in the latest versioner.. it was there according to avid page.
Then I downloaded the versioner in order to update the dongle, but surprise.. it's not working! "No complatible dongle found for upgrade"
I've found out that Avid has changed the was that MC update was suppose to work, now Flexversioner.avd from download center is obsolete... you are suppose to find that in your avid account
I have tons of customers that don't remember their avid account, or some does not even have one.
Then there are situations when today they register the systems as office@company.com, tomorrow they will use contact@company.com
I've called support, they escalated the case, today I was suppose to be able to get the versioner from the customer account. But it still not working.
I would say that at this moment Avid's activation path is a rubbish thing that simply is not working
I see a lot of troubles in the near future, avid support will be busy just fixing manually this mess
Have patince and some headpills nearby
