I found an old iMac with OS 9.1. I am slowly getting the files converted, even though the Mac sometimes crashes. Thanks for pulling the laptop out, but I'll save you further hassle.
As Terry wrote, this is definitely a PITA. I hope y'all don't have old .MooV files with the ABVB codec!
