If you currently own a perpetual license, it makes litle sense to switch to renting. Besides, if you did, you would now have your current perpetual license plus a subscription license. You won't have to trade one in for the other. Basically means if you currently own the software and need an extra license for a month or a year, you could rent it rather than purchase it. The rented one comes with more options (like Symph) and goodies.
