Re: [Avid-L2] Oliver's blog

The Premiere Pro "moment" was announced today: Fincher's Gone Girl has been edited on Premiere Pro CC. (With Change Lists provided by Intelligent Assistance, who will be releasing it in the future).

It's a pleasure being part of these success stories.

Thanks for a well-reasoned response. I agree with everything you've said and that's pretty much supported by  the software that I've actually used on my own jobs. I still think that most film editors grudgingly prefer Avid, though, but that's hardly a winning strategy. This year will likely see a "Cold Mountain" moment for both FCP X and Premiere Pro. I also think Avid will likely lose some key sales in the broadcast area as well. Certainly Adobe is pushing hard into that front. Serious feature improvements are needed to turn that around.
