I left off a bit,  not only completely fucking wrong,  It's also idiotic -   the editor isn't going ANYWHERE.

Today the pool of Avid editors believe this. In five years -- IMO only EOL editors in a few cities will have this belief.

IMO, there is no way Avid can show a profit after more than a decade of declining MC sales and pay the costs of making major upgrades to MC. And, they must actually have profits -- not just a good story to tell. If MC is the heart of Avid, the numbers say Avid has heart disease -- and has had it for years.

"Completely wrong."

Nobody outside the Exec suite (and maybe only the CEO) and some on the BOD know what is really planned. Right up until a company goes bankrupt or is sold or changes strategy -- no one but a few top people know about it. Engineering planning will go forward, people will be hired, and marketing/sales will continue to do their job. Certainly no one outside the company will know so there is no way for you to know. You may well be part of the 2014 message designed to keep the stock price-up and keep people buying.

Even a rising stock price tells us nothing. The road show may have been convincing enough to cause buying. Alternately, someone may have got insider knowledge of a buyer. Trust me -- you don't know. Nor do the Avid folks who post here. Everyone is telling the truth as they know it. But, that doesn't make it the truth as the BOD knows it.

In fact, the BOD may not even tell the CEO.They act on behalf of shareholders. They can sell a company without anyone IN the company knowing. They can break it up and sell parts of it.
