In my experience on Macs with the Black Magic Desktop Video Control Panel/Driver you have to install it after Avid has been installed. If you uninstalled Avid and then reinstalled Avid you would need to uninstall the Black Magic Desktop Video and then reinstall it. This has burned me on mac installs before.
