Although it is admittedly reading between the lines: A post like this, from someone who has historically participated in Avid beta programs, just one month or so before NAB -- is likely a pretty good indication that Avid will, once again, fail to deliver a competitive Symphony color corrector that belongs in this century.

Place the copy of the shot on the second track. Drop the animate effect on that shot. Draw your shape. Invert if you want the opposite selection. Adjust your two shots independantly to your hearts content.
