Re: [Avid-L2] FCP7 to Media Composer question

You'll need to do the AMA workflow to retain the original frame rate.  If you use the workflow that creates Avid media, you will end up batch importing in Avid,  which will convert the footage to the project frame rate.  This may result in a less than desirable conversion.  I believe Boris has some video tutorials on the workflow using AMA.

One of our editors just received a FCP7 project which he needs to
eventually convert to a Media Composer sequence. The FCP sequence
contains clips with multiple frame rates (23.976p, 29.97p, 59.94i) as
well as various raster sizes and codecs. AutoDuck does not seem to be
able to deal with multiple frame rates. Boris Transfer seem to be OK
with the multiple frame rates. Will Boris Transfer also create an
AvidMedia files folder full of media at its original frame rate? Is
there a better way to do this? Many Thanks. --J.B.
