Does it have an input video mode? What happens when you switch it to that? Does it have sufficient pre-roll set in the prefs? Try increasing the pre-roll to see if that helps. Is your Avid's video output definitely set to ref and not input and they are both connected to the same sync gen? Is the signal passing through anything like a legaliser that could be causing a problem? Do you have something like a tektronix to plug the output of the Adrenaline in to to check the signal is ok coming out of the box? Is the tape you are assembling to definitely ok? No channel conditions etc? Just thinking out loud...

At one time when our main deck was in the shop, we had used this HDW-250
for light duty editing without this issue. But our machine room and edit
bays have been ripped out and moved to a different location since then,
and I'm trying to use it on the one Avid left in the office. Not sure if
the current problems are the deck or my lack of knowledge in stringing
it, the Adrenaline, black burst, etc., together.
