Re: [Avid-L2] C300 and AMA

Not in front of a system right now to test, but I think the last time I worked with this footage I had to manually select the correct plugin or it would not work.  Don't use the default auto-selection in the link dialog drop down menu.  I think the one you want actually says "folder" in the name, but I could be mistaken.
The correct MXF AMA plugin is installed with Avid MC 7.x.  The downloadable version is for older software.  Don't try to install both.

OK, missing something. I am trying to AMA link some C300 footage. The actual MXF files are buried several folders deep in the camera card folder structure. The only way I can import or AMA Link any of the files is to drill down to each individual file. I am unable to link the whole top-level “contents” folder.

When I try to run the recommended Avid AMA MXF plug-in installer, it says it’s only good for Avid 6.5 or lower. The C300 footage imports just fine with FCP X, Resolve and Premiere Pro CC. Individual files import and AMA link fine in MC, so the codec plug-in is correct.

This is on OSX 10.9.2 (yes, I know, not supported), MC 7.0.3.

Thoughts?
