Hi All,
Dave French posted this on the ACSR group on his testing –
"Just wanted to send an update on this. I attached a thunderbolt PCIE expander with a Blackmagic Decklink card in it and Avid launched fine. So the issue seems to be that the new Mac Pro's have no audio input and Media Composer needs to see that in order to launch. I'm sure something that will be fixed once this is supported so people can run it in software only. But at least we can get in with a Decklink attached.
Also, I tried ISIS 4.5 connected with a dual ethernet connection and had no issues with that, normal speeds were seen (180MB/s). However, when I tried a 10Gb E Myricom card through a thunderbolt PCIE expander, I was getting 450MB/s write speeds but only 5MB/s read speeds.
Anyway, just thought I'd pass along these test results.
Thanks
Dave"
I've not had the opportunity to try it myself but this is encouraging news (apart from the 10Gig issue on ISIS).
Cheers
Stuart
