any hints in the console as to what happens when it locks up?
Hey experts!
I have a macpro (10.8.5) that locks up after about two minutes of operation - regardless of what's going on. However it does NOT do this when launched in 'safe' mode. Of course, my anti-virus won't run in safe mode.
Any tips what might be the issue? Anyone had this problem recently? This is not a machine I use myself regularly, so I can't say what's changed recently - other than we no longer allow our workstations to access the internet, as of about 3 weeks ago. (Though I can't imagine what software would completely lock the system if it couldn't access the internet.) This problem only cropped up day before yesterday. Most recent 'major' change to the machine was probably 2 months ago, when I completely reloaded the OS 'from scratch' in order to dump a lot of old 'grandfathered' crap that was on the drive. Applications on the drive include Adobe, Avid, and FCP. All our machines are configured more or less the same - this is the only one exhibiting this problem. (Also, coincidentally, our oldest macpro.)
Any anecdotes or clues would be appreciated.
