Re: [Avid-L2] Is subscription based really the way forward?

Good points Mike but fast and quick updates aren't always useful if you are effectively the beta testers. We deliver Training using Adobe CC and frequently find a recent update has now changed (or worse broken) a feature that worked last week. Not so bad if your just an editor but not ideal if you are showing a group of editors how to use the tool.

Avid aren't held back on updates and point releases (and they don't always ensure they are bug free) unless it's a major release. Only major released incur an upgrade cost. So subscription or not you can still be rolling out fixes and point releases. And if you need the software to earn your keep you really want to be in control of when those updates happen!
