Re: [Avid-L2] Avid's biggest challenges

Given the huge numbers dropping subs I guess that's one approach. I suspect it will work backwards for them I don't see how it's good business to say 'you can't buy our products' but I'm sure it looked good in a PowerPoint somewhere.

I'm seriously glad I'm getting to the end if my career EVERY manufacturer has totally lost any sense of fun or being part of a community. We can argue that's just part if the industry maturing but if I wanted to be mature id work in banking.

Want to know why software manufacturers aren't connecting with customers? It because you are all no fun to deal with.

Bmd is still fun, little camera - fun, davinci resolve - fun... This business is meant to be fun to be in but between accountants squeezing budgets and manufacturers trying to wring every last dollar out of us the fun is fast dropping off.

Want to sell more stuff? Make exciting stuff that people want. Innovation sells not tying people into subs especially at the sane time as selling overpriced boxes on the front end. Whoever thought that one up needs a Sarbanes - Oxley test.

The Autodesk deal kicks in by 2015. Basically you have to buy a subscription to get product updates after the purchase of the initial product. No more paid updates.
