[Avid-L2] some odd behavior with Symph

Using Symph 6.5.3 on Mac.
Today I opened the project I was working on yesterday and i had two bins missing. One was open in the project but when I closed it it disappeared from the folder. I went to my backup project and dragged the bins over. Open the project and there they are. But, they have many clips so I usually drag all clips to the timeline to create a sequence to do quick scan. When I do this, the bins disappear again. And…when I open the project at desktop, the bins are there but not the normal icon, instead a text doc white icon.

I trashed settings but no good. Anyone know what is going on here? Never encountered this before.
