[Avid-L2] Re: Video Levels jump in pause on Sony F-500 HDCam

 

HDCAM is a subsampled format and has to expand 1440 back to 1920 so adds sharpening to recover lost detail. This creates artefacts that I think are filtered slightly in play but not in pause seach.
HDCAM is a pretty naff mastering format. Luckily file deliveries should kill it off.

Re tek scopes my gripe is the safe area cage whivh is also limited to % increases so at 1920 1% is 19 pixels which is way to coarse.

Seems tektronix haven't really got on board with digital and seem to want to treat digital signals in the old analogue way.
