It's a stupid idea that re-enforces Avid's image as caring about the big guys only. What does this club have to say to the smaller shops and freelancers? Especially those not in the broadcast niche? Smaller shops are probably not represented well because not many kept Avid (none in my region). Those that went FCP are going to Premiere and new editors, agency creatives and a lot of corporate are moving to FCPX or Premiere.
Just ignore the fact that the company hasn't made a profit in years and can't balance it's own books. So to fix all that, the brilliance of upper management decides to form yet another layer to slow down feedback from it's customers. Oh, and charges us (not me) for it. Mind boggling.
