well, i've got a Pix240 and love it.
No problems whatsoever (keep in mind that this is Sound devices, HQ audio in in all flavours, and TC stuff is done by Ambient, always good stuff.)
You cannot really compare the two, i use it for live multicam, need analogue balanced sound input. Love it that it has decent limiters, and accepts both mic and line, and can do an audio delay (video is delayed by the mixer, so i can compensate in the pix)
And i need cross conversion (1080i input, 720p output for live streaming).
Both this the Samurai can't do...
Of course you can add boxes to get all this functionality, perhaps after that still be cheaper, but i hate too many boxes (I don't bring a truck, just a few cases...)
iow, ymmv

Also check out the Atomos Samurai. It records all flavors of ProRes and DNxHD. We shot our feature documentary with it and had few problems (we were one of the first buyers, and later firmware updates fixed the problems we encountered). We had considered and rented a PIX240 when it first came out and had sync/timecode problems -- I'm sure that's fixed now. But Samurai was less expensive too.
