Mac OS 10.6.8 SNDX 5.5.3.7. I have a 23.98 project that required a lot of over cutting for the uprez. The majority of the footage is Sony F55 and that was linked ama and transcoded to DNX 175 for uprez. Some material was given tape names originally for offline but I'm told much of the footage would not relink after mounting the volumes through ama and adding the same tape name as before. After a while the AE had to just over cut and he stopped adding tape names.
I took the final up rezzed sequence and the bin of transcoded clips and I consolidated those clips to a single dedicated volume for this show. I took the AE's sequence and option dragged a copy into my sequence bin. I then had the entire sequence online with media on my newly consolidated volume and everything is fine. Today I went back and opened the bin where I originally option dragged the sequence I've been working on came from. As soon as I open the bin my main sequence goes completely offline. I forced quit right away and went back into Avid relaunching and everything was back online. I then did some playing around and no matter what after opening the original sequence bin, and I didn't even load the sequence my main sequence goes offline and no amount of relinking seems to bring it back online. WTF? I know on 5.5.3.7 I don't have all the extra relink options but I did try highlighting all the transcoded clips and relinking the sequence to selected clips in other bins. The only other thing is I had to cut my main sequence into a new sequence in order to get proper 24 frame TC1. Anybody got any ideas what might be going on. For now I just can't open the original bin that my sequence came from. It's like opening the original bin is telling my current sequence that it should no longer link to the clips I consolidated to a dedicated volume and I can only guess it thinks maybe the clips should be on the original volume the AE transcoded to. Very strange.
