I really like a small app called reaper. My son showed it to me AFTER I has bought him protools - less latency and about hundred bucks. Which reminds me - he never paid me back for the bass amp or the protools mbox thing.

Seriously, the difference between Audition and ProTools is cost of the app and the plugins required to do this AND more important, ease of use. I taught myself how to clean up audio using Audition with a little help from watching some demos of it at NAB. Would ProTools require something like the SoundSoap plugin to do this without EQ?
