I've been happily using exFAT flash storage for several years. I suggest:

If an editor gets impatient and pulls out the drive, you can lose everything on it pretty easily with ExFAT. Not that you should ever do that with HFS+ or NTFS either, but at least you have a fighting chance of not corrupting your data.
