[Avid-L2] Re: PDW-U1 ama workflow?

Here is my approach. Once I get the drivers installed and I see the XDCam icon on the disk on the desktop I will mount ama volume. Will that give me all the contents of the drive? Then I will transcode to offline media for grouping etc and the offline cut. My understanding is that there is no need to add a tape name. Will this then later translate back to the original XDCam disks for online? I would hope so or what's the point.

I guess I have to load the proper ama plugins for Sony. This is a relatively new system so no ama plugins other than the QT are in now.

If anybody can throw me a version bone of which Sony ama plugins I need that would be appreciated. Mac OS 10.8.3, mc 6.5.4 on a new 12 core mac pro. Now I'm heading to the lovely avid ama page which can be almost as hellish as Fonts and in case you don't remember, "I HATE FONTS!"
