So is it proper to assume that in this workflow where they relink the original ama clips to the newly transcoded media Avid is somehow referencing the UMID to link the media? Given the only choices I see for relinking in V6 are based on Tape and Time Code or KN numbers I don't see how this is relinking but it clearly does. I figure the more I know about the nature of the beast the better I can trouble shoot when things go awry. I've seen a lot of brute force over cutting done with ama based projects and it just seems like on these projects nobody is taking the time to correct workflow errors and just relying on over cutting when things don't work.
