Hi all,
our system was set up from scratch, so there had been no previous installations on the system.
When trying to start MC we were able to select 30 day trial but then nothing happend.
After some googling my colleague read that this problem could have to do with Avid Licens Control. So he tried to start it but nothing happend - which proved that he was on the right track!
For the solution his thread was helpful:
http://community.avid.com/forums/t/108896.aspx
The third post reads 'I went into my local drive, and navigated to: C:\ProgramData\Avid\Licenses\Pro_Editor
Then I deleted all the files there, and tried to run the license control program again, and everything worked fine.'
My colleague deleted both 'Pro_Editor' and 'Pro_Video' folders inside the 'Licenses' folder. Then he was able to launch Avid License Control and also Media Composer successfully!
HTH,
Ben
