Inside AvidFX you have all the plugins available that came with BCC, but they have to be applied inside AvidFX. I work at one facility that did not buy BCC upgrades with their AVID upgrades, so had to learn how to use AvidFX to apply any Boris filters.
I found a great resource, as the AvidFX is not very intuitive initially. Follows a link to the free tutorial videos from Boris and user EdiusMagic on YouTube. AvidFX is also known as Boris Red.

I successfully downloaded and installed AvidFX v6.3 from Avid's Download Center.
I was able to use the Serial Number from the AvidFX installation DVD that came
with my MC v6 installation package. After installation, you have to verify that code.
Instructions are here: http://www.borisfx.com/purchase/avidfx.php
However . . .
I don't see a specific film effect, or other single effects.
What I see are three effects which are the portals to the AvidFX/Boris application:
- Avid FX Filter
- Avid FX Title-Matte Effect
- Avid FX Transition
I'm guessing the separate effects that were mentioned
are a different installation and registration, and not included in the MC bundle.
Correct?
Cheers,
