I think you're slipping into a "Grey" area, or was that a "Gray Lab" area? I remember finding a Gray Lab User bit combiner laying in the abandoned racks of Bldg 25 on the ABC Prospect lot. I had heard of the device in my CMX class as it had been used on a Carpenters music special where they fed time code from the multi track playback to the user bits on the user bit combiner so they could more easily sync the various takes. It was a 50 50 shot whether the time code sync word would lock to the correct relationship with ctrl track. Fun times indeed for those witchcraft based devices.
