I posted about my new Panasonic Plasma Smart TV with ad banner pop ups and an ad on the volume box. I found in display customization I could turn the Viera banner feature off. My understanding is it is a Panasonic server that provides the Viera banners. I believe other manufactures like LG and Samsung are doing something similar.
