Just downloaded the apparently latest ama P2 plug in. It is listed as 2.6 on the avid page as a .zip. When I install it onto mc 5.5.3 the ama_listplugins console command shows it as V2.4. We supposedly have direct copies of P2 cards. These are not at the surface of the drives they are on and I figure that's why link to ama file doesn't work. We can however link to ama volume and they video loads and works but there are media offline gaps on some of the clips. There are three different Card folders. One clip that is a 15 minute 25 second ish clip has video for approx first 2/3rds of the clip then media offline and then video comes back for the last few minutes. Using reveal file for video there are 3 out of 4 clips that get highlighted in the video folder. Is the missing video from this unhighlighted .mxf file? Two of the revealed files are 4.25 gigs and the third is around 62 megs. The unhighlighted clip is approx 600 megs. I'm wondering if this is a spanned clip issue and if P2 log Pro might fix it. I have this at home but only tried it once for something different that it didn't work for.
We've downloaded the 5.5 P2 ama workflow guide and the AE is looking at that. There are a few other clips in the other card folders that have sections that are media offline. Any suggestions on normal gotchas for these P2 woes would be appreciated.
We are going to transcode to 10:1M and do a test on relinking without using reel numbers. Is there any need to add tape names for proper relink down the line?
