I have demoed Qsdi for Sony (that was the never sold ES-7 NLE) many, many years ago.

4 times faster than RT ingest / output from /to DVcam.

the (infamous) STAS (playout system) could ingest 2 times faster than RT.

There is no technical reason why it has to be RT.

I cannot count the number of times a producer asked me if ingesting or outputting from Media Composer was faster than real time. Followed quickly by a disappointed sigh when they heard my answer.
