[Avid-L2] Mac 10.9 Mavericks USB thumbdrive install

I just sent this link to Ben directly - but thought I would follow up here.

Assuming that many months from now, when Apple is shipping 10.9.x , and Avid wants you to have 10.9.(x-2) installed it will be in your best interest to have a copy of 10.9.0 to start your OS updates from.

You should download (but not install) 10.9.0 from Apple's app store now (or a few days from now).
Then follow these directions to create a USB thumbdrive installer:

http://osxdaily.com/2013/06/12/make-boot-os-x-mavericks-usb-install-drive/

Set this aside for a while. Then, many months from now when Apple is only letting you download 10.9.5 from their app store, but Avid wants you to have 10.9.3 you can use this thumbdrive installer to start from 10.9.0 and "combo-update" your way from there.

Hope that helps others as well.
