RE: [Avid-L2] Re: [OT] Resolve on ISIS 5K

It aids debayering / demosaicing and it is the end result of many years engineering excellence and R&D and comes from a company that pays for high quality engineering graduates to make the products it makes. I don't think they offer waxing cars as a career choice at the company. They leave that for out of work editors ;-)

For what it's worth I was told by the Resolve engineers that the DNX media is harder than Red Media for the Resolve. My understanding is that Avid hasn't given Resolve the hooks to allow the GPU to aid in the computations of DNX media decoding etc... For Red they can offload the work to the GPU and a Red Rocket if you have one, although I'm not sure if the Red Rocket aids in playback or just rendering Red Media. For the cost of the Red Rocket card it aught to do everything including waxing my car.

I doubt this has anything to do with your playback issue and it's very interesting that it only skips the first time played through. That must mean something to somebody in the engineering department at Blackmagic.
