For the first time, it costs more to build up a package of tools for FCP X that would equal what you have in the standard Media Composer bundle (including third party bundled software tools).

This is not intended as a direct comparison of features. Merely that this combo is an equivalent toolset to the Media Composer bundle. Obviously not every FCP X user needs all of these items. Some folks can get by on just the editing application. It's also not a value judgement, but merely to point that that we seem to have passed an interesting milestone.
