Apparently, this is also an issue with Avid using the filename and not the embedded name when using AMA to R3D files. Avid adds the _001 extension whereas every app that uses the SDK, (and has to) uses the embedded name that does not have the _001, _002, etc. indicator for spanned files.
Since Avid develops the R3D AMA plug-in using the RED SDK, I wish they would just use the embedded and be consistent with every other app.
Apple ProRes from Arri Alexa is a whole other, but related issue.
