What did it contradict? The only thing I saw as contradictory was his statement that Deakins shot Skyfall in 2.6K for IMAX and so quality should not be any indicator of why to shoot 4K, but then he said 4K for Hollywood makes sense.
But other than that, the overall gist was "We don't need no stinkin' 4K." The big thing I can see is the ability to zoom and pan within the image for an end purpose 2K/1080 production, and since that destroys the aesthetic considerations of the DP in the lens choice and composition and filtering, that shouldn't even be an issue.
The fact that the guy who wrote the article is an admitted owner of an ALEXA definitely calls into question his motivations for writing the article and his objectivity. But other than those two things, I did not laugh out loud once. Maybe I'm just not a funny guy. I think Terry's point in linking to the article was to say that he's in agreement with the author.
