If anyone is actually following this thread:
When I try to play some older footage in the Source Window (creation date 2009; DNx145; 1080i) in a brand new v7 project (1080i 59.94) with brand new User Settings, as well as some other varying footage flavors and frame rates, I get the black screen, with message: CORE_CONSISTENCY_CHECK_FAILURE.
I also trashed and rebuilt all the msm databases, but that was no help.
Interestingly, the old 15:1s (2008) clips play fine . . . .
while the DNx145, 14:1p (2009) clips give me Black Screen with message std::exception (and beach ball of death).
Insert frowny-face here.

Then I mashed the clips together into a timeline and the frame rate did display. Previously, I was using some pretty old media files, and v7 does not like them (beach ball of death), and sporadic frame rate display (in some cases only in the audio, and not the video). I don't have time right now to divide and conquer to see which file/s are causing the problem/s.

But it would also be nice to elect to display frame rate as a text option from the Clip Text menu . . . no? Or, am I the only one?
