If it makes you feel any better, I'm running a PC GTX 670 on my 3,1 Mac Pro
with no problems. I only switched it out recently for the old 8800 GT so
that I could use rEFInd to dual boot with Fedora 19.

I've heard that the flash actually requires some soldering so you might not
want to go with that route.
