OWC has a video on it. They describe the expertise level as: easy. I would agree. They sell the drive in a kit with all of the tools. Unscrew about 8 screws. lightly pry off the back. Unplug power from the drive (pry loose a simple connection), unscrew the retainer clip on the drive. Pop off the e-sata connection easily. Unscrew four mounting screws from the old drive. Put them on the new drive. Pop the e-sata connection back on. Put the retaining bar back and screw it in. Reconnect the battery. Pop the back back on. Screw in the eight or so screws for the back. That's it.
Then, put your old drive in a little USB enclosure that comes with the kit and plug it in and book off it. Format the internal drive. Transfer anything from the old drive to the new drive. Reboot and you're done.
RAM was also fairly easy and cheap. I put in 16gigs instead of the 4gigs that mine has had for years.
