Once again I find myself confused here. By "GF" I assume you mean girl friend. Are you saying your GF is fast? Does she have a sister? I'm dying to know how the cable is involved. ;-) Oh the strange things that cross my mind during a render.

This is the "Ultimate HD" package, which includes nearly all channels except premium channels such as HBO. However, Showtime/TMC IS included. We were able to negotiate a free DVR with our one and only Verizon cable box (our other one is a Tivo, which works well with Verizon TV). We pay $120 a month for Internet, Cable, and landline phone service.

It also has call waiting and other features we don't use. The only bad thing is that it's locally battery-powered in case of power failure (which happens all too frequently here). The battery will run for about 8 hours without AC. After that, you have no phone service. Hurricane Sandy caused us to entirely rely on our cellphones, charging them at a neighbor's house.

I wanted to get FIOS as soon as it was available, primarily because of the all-fiber network; fiber runs all the way to our home. Comcast cable was not as reliable as FIOS and the customer support was practically nil. Perhaps because FIOS is from a phone company, the customer support is vastly superior.
