As I look at the version 6.0 matrix and the Qualified Apple Mac systems it seem a MacPro 3.1 dual Quad core 3Ghz or greater will work and any MacPro 4.1 and higher will work as long as the have 8 cores or more. Have I summed this up correctly?
I had thought the Harpertown, Nehalem, Westmere were the types of CPU chips but in looking closer at the mac pro history they are the micro architecture and some times the chips are different types like Gainstown, Gulftown and Bloomfield which still fall under the micro architecture of the Nehalem and Westmere.
I thought I had this stuff down but man these are even more confusing than the OS Nick names. I'll go for the Westmere Mountain Cougar Lion system please, but will that work with my bluefish ho hah board or will I have to hack the EFI with the 64bit bigger boot room on the video dohicky so I can run the GPU sniffer? My brain hurts. ;-)
