I have an hour long show that has a cut down version comprised almost entirely of the hour long show. I combined both sequences in Avid and ama linked to Red Epic footage and then exported an aaf to Resolve. In Resolve I used the Red Trim function only selecting the Red Clips from the hour long version at the top of the sequence. After creating the Red Trims for the first hour I removed the original full Red Raw files from the media pool and then repopulated the media pool with the Red Trim clips. I was able to Reconform the timeline to the Red Trimmed clips and the cut down show also reconformed with a few different clips that I broke out and made the additional Red trim clips for those.
Now I have everything conformed and once color corrected I'll export individual clips to bring back into Avid. I'm curious if anyone knows will the Resolve create two clips for the shots that are the same in the hour long and the cut down version or will it just create one like I would expect an Avid to do? I'm just curious what to expect.
