I have noticed the following:
1) by having all the media online in the Avid
2) exporting an Avid "AAF composition only" (no media (essence)) for use in the Resolve 9, is only currently possible under this circumstance.
3) select the sequence in the Avid bin
4) go to the Avid's "File" menu and choose "Export..."
the "Export As.." dialog box appears.
5) near the bottom right of the "Export As.." dialog box click on the "Options.." button
the "Export Settings..." dialog box appears.
6) In the upper right the word "Export As" one can click and choose "AAF" from the drop down menu
7) putting a checkmark next to "Include All Video / Data Tracks In Sequence"
And under "Video/Data Details"
8) by the "Export Method:" choose "Link to (Don't Export) media"
9) click the "Save" button
10) In Resolve 9 click on the "Conform" Suite
11) In the upper right is the "Timelines" area where one can right click and a contextual menu appears.
12) choose "Import > AAF"
the "Choose a file to import" dialog box appears
13) one can now choose their Avid exported AAF and click open.
the "Load AAF..." dialog box appears
14) deselect " Automatically import source clips into media pool"
15) put a check mark next to "Use sizing information"
just giving you all a heads up.
