In an unusual display of restraint, I intentionally did not join the last tongue-lashing of the Title Tool.
However, it is worth noting that the only two differentiating features of Symphony are a Color Correction tool that has not been updated since it was born during the Clinton presidency -- and a Universal Mastering function that does not work with the ubiquitous file-based world we all live in.
How does Avid continue to rationalize Symphony's existence -- or the price they charge for it?
When I upgraded to Symphony a year or two ago, I had hoped the differentiating factors would include a new and improved Color Correction tool, full HD Universal Mastering (that worked with both Nitris DX and Mojo DX) -- and maybe some level of resolution independence that might not have been included in MC. That did not happen -- and probably never will.
Move over DS -- Symphony needs to sit at the same table.
It seems apparent that someone over there is having a disconnected relationship with reality -- and is hell-bent on testing the patience of a loyal customer base.
