[Avid-L2] Re: crowdsourcing an answer

The funny part is, for many years Avid couldn't match the frame exactly. Motion effects are precomputes so Avid handles them differently and when the issue was finally tracked down, they had to do some fancy footwork to get it to work correctly.

The second problem, which probably has never been resolved would occur when someone was editing a single field resolution in offline. They would see what looked like a matched frame edit from a speed up motion effect to regular speed. Once they got to online, a two field world, there would be a stutter frame at the edit. What was happening is that the second field of the outgoing frame was from a further point in time that couldn't have been seen in the single frame offline. I am hyper sensitive to thi phenomena to this day.
