I respond:

I corrected myself minutes after my initial message. SX is described as MPEG2 using a mild temporal compression, as you've described "IpIpIp" (I've always known it as "IbIbIb", but the sequence is the same, just described differently). That still makes it Long-GOP as far as I'm concerned since it is definitely NOT Intra-frame. So I guess we'll have to disagree on the semantics. In the interest of compromise, perhaps it should be called "Short-GOP" ;)
