Re: [Avid-L2] New Mac Pro

"But the real difference comes in running MC/Symphony on the two platforms.
I for one don't prefer the wonderful crashes on Mac, where you are suddenly
looking at the desktop and have lost all of your work, vs. the less common
crashes in Windows which throw up an assertion error allowing you to save
your work before elegantly restarting the app."

Terrence,

I own a Mac Avid system, but freelance very frequently on PC systems. The
behavior you describe about having an opportunity to save after Windows
throws up an assertion error disappeared (at least on the systems I have an
opportunity to work on) when the client upgraded from Symphony 5.x to 6.x.
Now when the assertion error comes up, it loops endlessly, and switching to
the Task manager without force quitting Avid (which sometimes broke the
cycle and allowed me to save), will not allow me back to Avid at all. You
are still able to save after a crash on Avid 6.x?
