[Avid-L2] Re: thunderbolt fibrejet imac

Hi Oliver,

Thanks, I think we're in the "should" camp.

Fibrejet certainly doesn't share like Unity but we've set it so everyone
reads media drives and has local read/write. Only three Editors, three
workstations for three episodes. Plus ingest and Producer stations. The
iMac is for ingest.

Ingest has read/write to media drives, Producer station has read-only.
Editors use proxies until final at which time they can be given full
read/write and - hopefully - ingest should be complete by then.

BTW this coming weekend I'm doing a short industry course on editing
factual/reality series. I'm hoping to learn how it's organised now,
since I've been doing other things for quite a few years and everything
zigged to the left or right while I wasn't watching. I'm doing the
course for my own reasons, not to do with this particular job, but it
should have that incidental benefit.

Anything interesting I'll report.

regards,

jh
