Not with all the variables you mentioned, especially coming from Avid. When you export SAS, which is preferred, you then rely on all other encoders tapping into QT in order to interpret the Avid codecs.
For example, I have had truer results going Avid DNxHD to ProRes to H264 than going direct from DNxHD to H264.
